Your PS5 Controller Can Remember Four Devices

Since a PS5 system update in September 2025, the DualSense and DualSense Edge can remember four devices instead of one, and the four shape buttons are the slots: triangle is slot one, circle is two, cross is three and square is four. To add a PC, Mac, phone, tablet or Apple TV, unplug any USB cable and turn the controller off, then hold the PS button and a shape button for about five seconds until the lights flash twice, and pair it from that device’s Bluetooth settings. Your PS5 doesn’t need the combo, because pairing the controller with the console the usual way puts it in the next open slot by itself. To switch, turn on the device you want and hold the same two buttons for about three seconds. It works whether the controller is on or off, and the lights under the touchpad show which slot you’ve landed on. Before this, playing on a PC meant pairing the controller all over again, then pairing it back to the console afterwards.
